How to Connect Xbox One Controller to Android

To connect an Xbox One controller to an Android device, you can use Bluetooth connectivity. Here are the steps to do so:

Before you start:

  1. Ensure your Xbox One controller has Bluetooth capability. If your controller is an older model without Bluetooth, it won’t work wirelessly with Android devices.
  2. Make sure your Android device has Bluetooth turned on.

Pairing the Xbox One Controller with Android:

  1. Press and hold the “Xbox” button in the center of your controller to turn it on.
  2. On the top of the controller, near the shoulder buttons, you will find a small circular button. This is the controller’s pairing button.
  3. Press and hold the pairing button until the Xbox button starts flashing rapidly. This indicates that the controller is in pairing mode.
  4. On your Android device, go to the “Settings” app.
  5. In the Settings menu, select “Bluetooth” or “Connected devices,” depending on your Android version.
  6. Ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
  7. In the list of available devices, you should see “Xbox Wireless Controller” or something similar. Tap on it to initiate the pairing process.
  8. After a few moments, your Xbox One controller should be successfully connected to your Android device.

Once the controller is connected, you can use it to navigate your Android device or play games that support gamepad input. Keep in mind that not all Android games are compatible with game controllers, so you may need to check game-specific compatibility or use a third-party app to map controller inputs for unsupported games.

If you encounter any issues with the pairing process, make sure your controller’s batteries are not depleted, and try restarting both the controller and your Android device before attempting to pair them again.
