How to view saved passwords in Chrome on Android

Chrome for Android does not provide a built-in feature to view saved passwords directly within the app. However, you can access and manage your saved passwords by using the Google Password Manager, which is linked to your Google account. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Open Chrome: Launch the Chrome app on your Android device.
  2. Access Chrome Settings:
  • Tap the three vertical dots (menu icon) in the top-right corner of the Chrome window to open the menu.
  1. Go to Settings:
  • Scroll down and select “Settings.”
  1. Access Passwords:
  • Scroll down to the “Autofill and payments” section and tap on “Passwords.”
  1. View Saved Passwords:
  • You’ll see a list of saved usernames and passwords associated with websites you’ve visited using Chrome.
  1. View or Copy a Password:
  • To view a saved password, tap on the website or service name for which you want to see the password.
  • You may be prompted to enter your device’s unlock method (PIN, pattern, fingerprint, etc.) or your Google account password to verify your identity.
  • After verifying your identity, you’ll see the saved password. You can either copy it or use it to log in to the respective website or app.
  1. Manage Passwords:
  • You can also use the “More options” (three vertical dots) button next to each saved password to edit or delete the password entry if needed.

Remember that it’s essential to keep your device secure, and you should be cautious when accessing and managing your saved passwords, especially on shared or unsecured devices. Always make sure your device is locked when not in use, and use strong, unique passwords for your accounts.

The process and interface may have changed in more recent versions of Chrome for Android. If you’re using a newer version of Chrome, I recommend checking the official Chrome Help documentation or Google’s support resources for the most up-to-date instructions on managing saved passwords in Chrome on Android.
