Turn on Flash in Chrome
To enable or turn on the flash player in Google Chrome, follow these steps:
Open Google Chrome: Launch the Chrome browser on your computer.
Access Chrome Settings:
- Click on the three-dot menu icon (⋮) in the top-right corner of the Chrome window to open the menu.
- Select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.
Scroll Down and Expand Advanced Settings:
- Scroll down the Settings page until you see the “Privacy and security” section.
- Click on “Advanced” to expand this section.
Click on “Site Settings”:
- Under the “Privacy and security” section, you’ll see “Site settings.” Click on it to access site-specific settings.
Locate Flash Settings:
- Scroll down the “Site settings” page until you find “Flash.” Click on it.
Enable Flash:
- By default, Chrome blocks Flash content. To enable Flash, toggle the switch next to “Block sites from running Flash (recommended)” to the “Ask first” or “Allow” position. This allows Chrome to ask for your permission before running Flash content.
Confirm Changes:
- After making the change, you may need to refresh the page or close and reopen Chrome for the settings to take effect.
With Flash enabled, when you visit a website that uses Flash content, Chrome will prompt you to allow or block Flash for that specific site. You can choose to allow Flash for that site for the current session or permanently.
The Adobe Flash Player has been deprecated and is no longer supported by most modern web browsers, including Google Chrome. It’s recommended to use alternative technologies such as HTML5 for multimedia content, as support for Flash continues to decline, and it poses security risks. If possible, consider encouraging websites to update their content to use modern technologies instead of relying on Flash.
