Search by Image: Google Reverse Image Search in Android

The Google didn’t offer a built-in reverse image search feature in the standard Google Search app for Android. However, you could perform a reverse image search on Android using a web browser or by using the Google Lens app. Here’s how you can do it:

Method 1: Using a Web Browser (e.g., Chrome)

  1. Open the web browser on your Android device, such as Google Chrome.
  2. Go to the Google Images website (images.google.com).
  3. Tap the “Camera” icon located in the search bar. This icon allows you to search by image.
  4. You can either:
  • Take a photo using your device’s camera by selecting the “Take a picture” option.
  • Upload an image from your device’s gallery by selecting the “Upload an image” option.
  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to take a picture or select an image from your gallery.
  2. Google will then perform a reverse image search and display results related to the image you provided.

Method 2: Using Google Lens

If you have the Google Lens app installed on your Android device, you can also use it to perform a reverse image search:

  1. Open the Google Lens app from your app drawer.
  2. Tap the “Image” icon. This allows you to select an image for analysis.
  3. Select the image you want to search for in your gallery.
  4. Google Lens will analyze the image and provide related search results.

The availability of these features may vary depending on your device and the version of the Google app or Google Lens app you have installed. Additionally, features and app capabilities may have changed or improved since my last update in September 2021.

If you don’t have the Google Lens app installed, you can download it from the Google Play Store to enjoy additional image recognition and search functionality.
