Father of PHP
The “father” of PHP is Rasmus Lerdorf. He is a Danish-Canadian programmer who created the PHP (originally called Personal Home Page) programming language in 1994. PHP started as a simple set of CGI (Common Gateway Interface) binaries written in the C programming language that Rasmus used for his personal website to track visitors.
Over time, PHP evolved and gained popularity as a server-side scripting language for web development. Rasmus Lerdorf’s initial work laid the foundation for what would become one of the most widely used programming languages for building dynamic and interactive websites.
PHP has since undergone significant development and has become an open-source project with a large and active community of contributors. Today, PHP is used by millions of developers worldwide to create websites, web applications, and other web-related projects. It has become a crucial part of the web development ecosystem and continues to be an essential language in the industry.
